PAST SIMPLE
Definição: utilizamos o Past Simple para referir acções que já terminaram.
Forma: é igual para todas as pessoas e é formado, na AFIRMATIVA, com:
sujeito + verbo com terminação –ed (verbos regulares)
Exemplos:
- I played football yesterday.
- We studied hard for the test.
Para formar a NEGATIVA, coloca-se:
sujeito + didn’t ou did not + verbo (sem –ed) = I didn’t play football yesterday.
Para formar a INTERROGATIVA, coloca-se:
Did + sujeito + verbo (sem –ed) = Did you play football yesterday?
Respostas curtas:
Yes, I did. / No, I didn’t.
Os verbos irregulares têm uma forma específica, que tem que ser decorada!
Não lhes acrescentamos –ed mas continuamos a utilizar o did para fazer a interrogativa e o did
not para a negativa.
Exemplos:
Afirmativa: I went to the cinema yesterday. (went – GO)
Negativa: I didn’t go to the cinema yesterday.
Interrogativa: Did you go to the cinema, yesterday?
Remember:
AFIRMATIVA: (decorar a 2ªcoluna da lista de verbos irregulares)
NEGATIVA: didn’t ou did not + verbo no infinitivo
INTERROGATIVA: did + sujeito + verbo no infinitivo
