ABSTRACT: The Soave-Redlich-Kwong equation of state with the van der Waals mixing rules with two binary interaction parameters was used to simulate the solubility of the açai extract in carbon dioxide for the investigated isotherms 3231.5 to 353.15 K at pressures within 150 and 500 bar. Besides the vegetable oils composition were a complex mixture of triglycerides plus others compounds, the solubility of the system açai extract/carbon dioxide was predicted considering as a mixture of fatty acids plus anthocyanins, based on composition published previosly. The results showed that at pressures below 300 bar, an isobaric increase in temperature decreases the solubility of the extract as an effect of the decreases density of the carbon dioxide. The isotherms interception point represents a measured of the effect of the temperature in the solublity as described in the literature. The methodology applied in this work could be used as a estimating of the highest vegetable oils solubility region in carbon dioxide using a fatty acid composition model contributing to lower the experimental measured.
