Flashbacks
When my friend Phil, a minister, visited Disney World, he rented a wheelchair for his
aunt, who has difficulty walking. One unforeseen benefit was that Phil’s whole family
was ushered to the front of the lines. At the end of the day, Phil wheeled his aunt back
toward the parking lot. Unable to find a ramp down from the sidewalk, he stopped to
consider an alternative. At that point, his impatient aunt stood up, stepped off the curb and
began to walk.
Embarrassed by the looks, from departing park visitors, many of whom had watched his
family bypass the long lines, Phil stepped back from the wheelchair, raised his hands and
said, “It’s a miracle!”
